At Political Education For Students (PEFS), we believe that democracy is not a spectator sport. We are dedicated to ensuring that every young person, from Year 5 to Year 13, has the knowledge, confidence, and critical skills to navigate the complex political landscapes of the 21st century.
With the introduction of compulsory citizenship education in primary schools, combined with the right to vote for sixteen-year-olds, the UK is undergoing its most significant democratic transformation in over half a century. At Political Education For Students, we are at the forefront of this evolution, ensuring that young people are not just given the right to participate, but the education to do so effectively.
Why Is Political Education Important?
We expect young people to become the stewards of our democracy—to vote, to defend our principles, and to lead in civic society. Yet, as the UK moves toward Votes at 16, a critical gap remains: too many students leave school without the systemic, structured political education needed to handle this responsibility.
