We are delighted to include – free of charge – the materials for one of our differentiated, engaging lessons from the “How Is Britain Governed?” scheme of work. The lesson – What Does The Government Do For Me? – teaches students about the extensive range of services that the government provides through taxation and structures a debate about how taxation is spent.
As with all of the lessons in our schemes of work; this sample is fully resourced, differentiated and easy to use.
The learning outcomes for the lesson are:
- Students will be able to describe the different services that the government provides.
- Students will be able to explain why these services are important.
- Students will be able to express their opinions regarding whether they agree with how taxation is spent.
