The UCAS forms have been sent off, the admissions tests have been completed and now students sit and wait to hear whether or not they will be invited to interview at Oxford or Cambridge universities.
The next home of Grey Court School Oxbridge applicants?
It has been an absolutely fantastic day working with fifteen students at Grey Court School in London to help them prepare for the academic rigours of the Oxbridge interview. We have explored different techniques to develop critical thinking, practiced interview questions personalised to each applicant’s subject and even had a go at a mock interview format. All of these activities were challenging – yet engaging – and helped students to practice and refine their performance.
What I always love about our “Oxbridge Interview Skills” workshop is seeing how students grapple with complicated concepts and open-ended questions in their subject area. The intense enthusiasm, passion and determination clear to see. Every student gave it their all and some of their answers were just simply breathtaking. It never ceases to make me glad that we kept our Oxbridge provision alongside our politics based workshops.
I sincerely wish all students who applied at Grey Court School, as well as at all other schools, the best of luck in their upcoming interviews.
